This class teaches the many uses of the syringe-type metal clay to produce larger but light weight creations. The syringe allows greater accuracy in directing the design into more intricate patterns. An interesting and useful stone setting technique is incorporated into the project to add colour and interest..
You will learn:
This short course is a module of the JDMIS Foundation Certificate in Jewellery Fabrication using Metal Clay. For information about how this course fits into a complete jewellery education, visit our Continuing Education Roadmap
  • Layout and considerations for this style of design;
  • Stone setting principles for bezel settings;
  • Combining paste and syringe types of metal clay for reinforcement of design frame;
  • Firing and finishing for open-work designs.
